Strength and Conditioning Coach - Rugby
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Strength and Conditioning Coach to join our high-performance Rugby Programme at The Henley College.. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in in planning, delivering, and reviewing strength, power, speed, and conditioning training tailored to the specific needs of our student-athletes.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, providing pitch-side support during training and fixtures (including national travel), and contributing to the overall development and wellbeing of players in both the Girls’ and Boys’ Rugby programmes. as well as assisting with the wider operational and strategic development of our rugby programmes.
This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone eager to drive athletic development in an educational and competitive rugby environment, thrives in a team environment, and is committed to high performance in education and sport.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who combines strong clinical knowledge with a positive, student-focused approach. The ideal candidate will have:
- A Degree in Strength and Conditioning
- Practical experience planning and delivering rugby-specific strength, power, speed, and conditioning programmes, including pre-season and in-season phases
- Understanding of rugby’s positional demands and Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) principles, especially within an educational setting
- CIMPSA certification and experience working in performance rugby environments alongside coaches and sport therapists.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, coaches and external stakeholders
- A flexible, adaptable, and professional approach to working within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team
- A full driving license and willingness to complete minibus training (if not already qualified)

Salary: £23,654.00
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent, 37 hours a week
