About the Role 

Are you passionate about inspiring creativity and helping young people develop their artistic voice? We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Art Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching and learning across our Art provision, including UAL Art and Photography. 

The successful candidate will bring strong subject expertise, creative and practical experience, and a genuine passion for helping students develop their artistic skills, confidence and creativity. 

Main Responsibilities 

• Plan, prepare, deliver and assess engaging Art lessons and programmes, including UAL Art and AL Art, and including teaching on Level 4 foundation course. 

• Teach and support students across relevant Art units, setting and assessing work completed in College and elsewhere. 

• Support students in developing creative, practical and theoretical understanding, while promoting their general progress and well-being. 

• Assess, record and report on student development, progress and attainment; provide timely and constructive feedback; and contribute to internal moderation of assessed work. 

• Collaborate with colleagues on courses of study, teaching materials, teaching methods, assessment and pastoral arrangements, maintaining high standards and meeting curriculum and awarding-body requirements. 

• Provide appropriate guidance to students on educational matters, further education and future careers, contribute to College activities, and keep up to date with educational developments and qualification standards. 

About You 

Essential: 

• Relevant degree 

• Teaching qualification (or working towards a full teaching qualification) 

• Teaching experience (or professional work experience) 

• Experience of teaching the specified subject(s) or course(s) 

• Commitment to active and student-centred learning 

• Commitment to keeping up to date with educational developments affecting the work of the College and the subject/course areas covered by the post 

• Energy, enthusiasm and the ability to communicate effectively with students and staff 

• Well-developed organisational skills 

• Ability to work collaboratively with a committed team of teachers and support staff 

Desirable: 

• Previous experience of providing tutorial support to students 

• Experience of teaching on a foundation art course
